Another way of looking at this, Mark, is that a peace deal would require Israel to agree to a viable Palestinian State, with defined borders.
This would mark the end of their long-term project to build Greater Israel by salami-slicing the West Bank.
As they haven`t yet finished nicking all the desirable real estate in the region I suspect the Israelis aren`t quite ready to agree to that. |
