The "youth bulge" in the West Bank and Gaza Strip represent a great opportunity. Such numbers of young people represent an unprecedented opportunity for socio-economic development and transformation- if their leaders could adequately investment in their human development. In 2002, 56 per cent of the registered Palestinian refugees were under 25 years of age. Refugee youth have particularly benefited from UNRWAs: primary education, secondary education vocational training technical training programmes, and a plethora of other new projects The largest UN system in the world (UNRWA) has transformed the societies they live in if only their leaders would let them progress and if foreign passport Palestinians would stop feeling sorry for them. |
