| Not that this is an easy dilemma to solve, when the majority look upon May 15 as Yom HaAtzmaout, while the minority community holds it as the Naqba. How does Israel see its Arab citizens as part of "their" society? How do those Arab citizens feel toward their state in a situation where a person with 2 Jewish grandparetns can come from Moldova and be classified immediately as a citizen with rights the native born Arab citizens does not have. What are these citizens to think when their representatives in government are not included in hese discussions? Will the coming days see a real change in which a Constitution will be decided on which will no longer legislate discrimination based on ethnic affiliation? |
