... they: 1) Internalize that Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people; in other words, Israel is the manifestation of the universal right of peoples to national self-determination, in this case, the manifestation of Jewish people, similar to Greece, Denmark Portugal or Thailand. And, 2) They see themselves as members of a minority, as there are minorities in nearly all nation-states, with full rights, but also with the willingness to shoulder full responsibilities. Responsibilities include military/police service, and adherance to all laws and regulations governing all other citizens in the country.
An added advice would be: Arabs in Israel should reject the exclusively Arab political parties, and try to integrate into the general political parties that are open to all, on the left, right and center of the political map. The leaders of the exclusive Arab parties cause the Arabs in Israel more harm than good, and cause much friction between Jews and Arabs. |
