Servus, Stefan:
I am a WWII refugee, born in Radom during the Nazi occupation. Tell me about the loss! The Polish Jews are part of the beautiful culture of Poland. The Yiddish songs, the Klezmer music, the cooking, the theatre, the literature-- my mother always talked about Sholam Asch, especially "Motke Ganev" (she named one of our cats Ganev). When we finally made it to the US, our favorite grocery shop was one run by two Polish Jewish brothers, who were like our family because of all the reminiscences and great stories. And the fresh, live carp and pickles and kasha and sledzie always available. What a disaster was that damn war.
