| What an inspiring life Mrs. Sendler has led. This is true courage - not the absence of fear, but of doing the right thing for future generations. I have promised the Lord that I will pray for Israel-her people and her land- and protect them in my day if necessary. This recount furthers my joy of my polish heritage. I am also fascinated with the Dutch resistance and would like to read "The Tulips are Red." This was apparently the watchword that the Dutch underground used when housing Jewish people. May we rise up to be Esthers from the Bible who exist for "such a time as this" as we see great anti-semitism arising from the earth in this day that we live. May we never live unto ourselves, but stand in the stream of history, taking our part before a God who sees. God bless you, dear Mrs. Sendler. |
