| It`s important to note that Right wing in politics does not mean Right wing in Judaism. When Meir Kahana was still in New York with his Jewish Defence League, none less than the Gaon Reb Moshe Feinstein publicly condemned his confrontational style. In Israel and in the Diaspora leaders of the Yeshivah world like the Council of Sages of Agudath Israel have no time for Right wing politics -- and indeed supported `Land for Peace`. The Lubavitcher Rebbe was the one exception. Many Right wing Jews keep away from Zionism completely and see Israel as just another state with no more Divine rights than any other state. The Right wing politicos you describe sound like selfish spoilt Brooklynites who think they can do as they please, with minimal regard for others or for Halacha. |
