| Swiss, I`ll try to take your question at face value and give you an answer. Jews, just like every other people, are very diverse and have many views on differing issues so it shouldn`t be suprising that some Jews are racist. I was once subjected to a classic anti-semitic comment (having nothing to do with Israel but referring to Jews and money) by a very nomative Canadian. The point being that even in self lableled "progressive" countries racisim is a big problem. However, the situation in Israel is far more complicated than in Canada. Jews and Arabs have been engaged in a bitter struggle in this land for over 100 years. Arab history of terrorism, mass murders of Jewish civilians in cold blood, and the support that those attacks receive in the "Arab Street" create a lot of fear and hatred which comes across as racisim. You might also want to question why classical anti-semetic works like the "Protocols" are so popular in Arab countries, even those at peace with Israel such as Egypt. |
