I find the concept "Jewish Democracy" to as one with "Islamic Republic", an oxymoron that serves neither the faith or the political system.

Before the hate mail/flaming starts - think about this. One of the main tenants of an organized religion is the firm seperation of believers and non-believers. The principle of a republic/democracy is joining many different groups for a single cause of unity.

To that end, it is very difficult to maintain the tenant without suffering the principle and vice versa.

A dicision is coming to all that try to claim both - may our children forgive us if we choose badly.
