The grave plot of the father of modern Zionism, Theodore Herzl, who is buried in Jerusalem, was vandalized over the weekend by unknown persons.
Workers at the Mt. Herzl cemetery found the grave plot of its founder desecrated. Plants were uprooted, and flags of Israel and the World Zionist Organization were found torn. This was the second such incident to occur in 24 hours, and sources from the site said that this was a recurring problem. However, police complaints were of no help and in many cases, and were therefore simply not filed. Jewish graves vandalized in Israel is another wake up call. Anti-Semites are doing the same thing in Israel as they do in foreign lands. It is one more piece of evidence that the current government cannot implement plans that crackdown on such actions. And what if the vandals are caught? People like Yossi Beilen will say `bad boy,please don`t do it again`. Enemies of Israel can succeed with people like Beilen in power. |
