You said to one writer "if you had a bully in the neighbourhood". Here in Canada we do have a bully in the neighbourhood. He rules a fundamentalist state that has attacked many other countries, infiltrated others, and dropped nuclear bombs on civilians. Let me tell you, it really is scary.
We keep our heads down and our leaders mumble "Yes sir" when one of his emissaries drops by to browbeat us (like when his "drug czar" came to my city last year to warn us of retaliation if we did not persecute persons who used marijuana in our country).
I sure wish that someone would rid us of this enemy of democracy. Alas, no savior has yet appeared.
BTW, my country has a constitution, and so did not join what we call "the coalition of the idiotic".
I do agree with you that the Sunni-led states support Bush`s desire to attack the Shias. Not sure what that proves, except that Bush finds religious disputes useful. |
