Decision of Greek Orthodox synod has chosen to unseat one Patriarch and to nominate another one. For this Patriarchal decision Israel?s government?s consent seems to be needed. The court case is known for a long time, and connected issues are dealt with on Israel cabinet level. - Israel government conditioned its consent to recognize Theophilos by apparently a cabinet committee in which Minister Rafi Eitan is a member.
The District Court before which part of this issue is being dealt with, will be shown by Theopilos lawyers Renato Yarak, and Rami Mugrabi an official letter stating government conditions for approval of Theopilos as a new Greek Orthodox Patriarch. - This official document was handed over to lawyers Yarak , Mugrabi, by Minister Rafi Eitan.
Politics are not always the cleanest and ethics ones but the moment an official act like legalizing in the case of Theopilos becomes a juridical, legal process, it should be dealt with by government lawyers and not through ?semi official? person like ex government lawyer Yarak - Here?s seems to be a typical case of wheeling dealing, like horse trading which could exist verbally, but definitely not in official letter / notes.
Under what legal authority Minister Rafi Eitan handed over such a government legal letter to the now acting privately acting lawyers Yarak and Mugrabi? - One shouldn?t forget the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate is always seconded by Greek government |
