| This is the worst message that could be sent to antisemites, to the Jews and to non-Jewish people in France. Everybody rose when the poor man was killed because he was singled out as a Jew. Everybody rose because there is no reason that a French Jewish boy in France should suffer because he was a Jew. By moving his body to Israel, the message is clear, a Jewish boy is not a French boy like any other. Why should the non-Jewish French raise in favor of the Jews if they exclude themselves from the other French ? How can you expect the French government to organize a memorial to the barbaric death of one of its citizens if his corpse is moved to a foreign country ? The message it gives to all is that Jews in France are not ordinary citizens who should be protected as French citizens without any prejudice. The Jewish Agency and Israel have many times caused a lot of damage to the security of Jews in France by creating a wedge between them and their fellow citizens. |
