| Salpeter is advocating the traditional Jewish response to attacks: Don`t make waves, keep a low profile and the storm will pass. It never worked before and often proved disatrous for the jews, except that in centuries past they did not have much choice. Yes, it`s true that protesting the attacks attracts more attention, and it`s true that this is a quandary of "damned if you do and damned if you don`t". But experience proves that keeping silent in the face of libelous charges is worse than speaking up. |
