From the article: "One cannot ignore the Holocaust`s impact on Jewish identity and the history of the Middle East conflict."
"However, this event sealed in the minds of almost all the world`s people then the need for the Jewish people to have a Jewish state in their ancestral homeland."
Lipstadt never used the Holocaust to justify the occupation, and least not in the quotes from this article. Unless, of course, the three of you read her court testimony and know something we don`t? I`ll tell you, I`ve seen a lot of people on this Talkback forum accuse Israel supporters of using the Holocaust to justify all sorts of nasty things, but I`ve never seen a single post here that did that, and no where on the streets of Israel have I ever heard such a justification made. There is a difference between that and acknowledging the Holocaust`s role in the establishment of Israel. |
