| This is utter nonsense! So, Issrael should therefore be immune to all criticism because all criticism will eventually devolve into anti-Semitism? And because of the Holocaust, a critic of Israel`s occupation should be silent because any criticism does not take into account the enormous suffering of the Jews during that dark chapter in Jewish history? Carter is accused of being devoid of any sensitivy to this Jewish reflex to any external threat, either real or not. This is his sin, his flaw, not necessarily his choice of word in defining Israel`s demographic imperative as being a form of "apartheid". This is nothing but an another attempt to silence the criticism, of Carter and all critics of Israeli policy. It is meant to deflect,to excuse, to allege that Israel has been forced into its present predicament and it must be understood in a suprahistorical contenxt, one that does not apply to other nations, and Israel`s justification must be accepted. If not, then one runs the risk of attack |
