With the Golan becoming less of strategic value over the years,Syrias relationship is becoming more important for the bigger picture. Irans route to Hizbullah is through Syria.So Syria is of most importance to America. This is where any decisions lay about Syria. I think in general we are seeing the bigger picture being played out but Israel is not just an American player in everything.It has to and does make its own decisions.But I am sure the Americans too are asking Israel for restraint in the face of its bigger plan.
