How exactly do you equate an UN resolution denouncing Holocaust denial with a refusal by Israel to acknowledge the Turkish genocide against Armenians? When has Israel denied the genocide against the Armenian people? So far, only the Turks have denied the Armenian genocide because they don`t want to be implicated in it. They put on trial any Turks who raise the issue on the charge of "crimes against Turkishness."

The Armenian genocide was the event that first prompted Raphael Lemkin to begin his work, which led to the coinage of the term "genocide." But the Holocaust began shortly after his work was started, and then Lemkin, a European Jew, had a VERY personal reason for advocating for the adoption of this concept into international law.
