Meaningless at best, counterproductive at worst (as far as the Jews are concerned), and is it really anything more than a pissing contest between George and Mahmoud? You have your conference, I counter with UN measure. Big deal.

The issue here, as Ami Eden wrote well about in the Times last year, is how institutions (Jewish and otherwise) can effectively confront antisemitism and Holocaust denial, and another "International Day of ____" isn`t gonna get the job done.

Perhaps we might be better served by our political representatives if they spent more time trying to figure out ways to support strong elements within countries like Iran that are fighting the good fight for modernity against the forces of chauavanism, obscurantism, and nonsensical Islamism or Chavezism without tarnishing them in the process, and to find popularly-supported diplomatic solutions to the issues of borders, trade, representation, etc. that keep us all riding on this merry-go-round.
