These extremists are not representative of all WB settlers or of the rest of Israeli society. They are a source of shame for the rest of us, a blatant example of what we do not want to be. They support only themselves but contribute nothing - soldiers have to guard them, while they do not serve in the IDF. They live in their own little warped world they have created for themselves, are cruel and degrading to their Arab neighbors. They are isolated from the rest of Israel in their values, behavior and morals. They may confer with their rabbis, but they are far from living by Jewish ethics. When the West Bank is returned and becomes part of the future Palestinian state, if there is a proposal to allow Jews to continue to live in the West bank and for Palestinians to return to Israel, I would not blame the Palestinians for telling them they are not interested in having them for neighbors. I certainly wouldn`t blame them. Who would want such neighbors? |
