This is a red herring discussion. Regardless of the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria there would be a need for roadblocks to find and prevent terrorists intent on harming Israelis in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Very few terrorists are satisfied with only harming the passing Israeli car (although that happens much more frequently than Jews cursing Arabs).
We do suffer, although admittedly not as much as the Palestinians, from the roadblocks and checkpoints. The difference is that we do not support terror and violence while a large enough proportion of Palestinians do (which is why all the attention is directed at them).
When there is no longer a risk to innocent life I would expect the IDF to change their policy. Not before. |
