| One just hopes to God that we`re not going to become fixated on this additional restitution issue now...... For sure millions of people in Europe and elsewhere, whether they were Jews or Christians or Muslims or whatever lost all their life`s possessions in WWII, and the majority just had to begin their lives again from virtually nothing. Few if any were compensated totally for what they lost. War is a cruel arbitrary buisness for all involved, willingly or unwillingly. As for the relatively few remaining impoverished holocauste survivors, we all know that this is a shameful local bureaucratic issue, and that monies long due to them are just being bandied around by the local authorities involved. And from another point of view: Do we intend to offer full restitution to every single Palestinian who was ever displaced and impoverished by us? |
