| Holy Cow! Read that 1st section again! "I can say that on behalf of the U.S. president and the secretary of state, and I`ve talked to both" This is an ASTONISHING thing for him to say, and should result in a sharp rebuke from Washington telling him not to be presumptious. I bet it doesn`t. "And this is the opportunity to reach out to the Palestinians and the Israelis and say, look, this is the golden chance" "If we don`t move the peace process forward, it`s only a matter of time until there is a conflict between Israel and somebody else in the region" Can`t you see that this message has been given the US Seal of Approval, if not a script sent straight from the Oval Office? He`s signalling that the USA might *not* offer unconditional and unquestioned support to Israel the next time it gets all belligerent. Might even - gosh! - BLAME Israel. This is a warning from the Yanks; start talking - and MEAN IT - or you fight the next war on your own. |
