You took the words right out of my mouth , Victor. Self-serving is exactly how the letter struck me too. I almost felt sorry for Halutz ( I know, I know, but there was a time when he DID do great good). When I read the letter I almost cringed in embarrassment for him. Halutz patted himself on the back far too often for my liking. Maybe he didn`t get the backing he needed from the govt, and maybe he is ( like he points out in his letter),moral , loyal,and trustworthy. But none of these qualities is enough without COMPETANCY .Lack of competancy in a military capacity results in needless loss of life .
From what I`ve read so far on this forum, it doesn`t look like too many people are buying the soap that Halutz is peddling in his letter of resignation. And rightfully so ! |
