You`re joking, right? The public at large doesn`t need to have their awareness raised. When I immigrated to Israel, the Israeli public were fantastic in their wholehearted support and open mindedness to new immigrants. The problem for new olim lies not with the general public, but with petty government bureaucrats and their mean spirited, malicious obstructionist behaviour. I never once met a government employee that wasn`t a control freak or running his own little personal fiefdom.
Better to expend your energies in reforming the pompous, jealous, jaded and capricious public servants to the needs of everyone, including new olim if you want to maintain aliya and reduce yordim.... But everyone already knows that. |
