| Al Jazeera-in arabic it means The Island. In the Arab world AlJazeera is a democratic island surrounded by self interest dictatorships. Mr.Carmel should be commended for this inciteful and good report and Mr. Al Umari is a breath of fresh air.Mr. Carmel`s question re whether the AlJazeera serves the ruler`s anti Israeli stance? In fact Mr. Carmel, Qatar has taken a bold step in establishing the Al Jazeera and to opening dialogue with Israel. You may know that from your recent news in Haaretz. We just hope that more Qatars will grow in the Arab World and we also hope that Israel will begin to show understanding towards enforcing peace with the Palestinians. Qatar has the more difficult task being an Arab country with guts but they are on the good road of good change. Now Israel needs to help on the other side by disarming the big mouths of the Middle East with a peaceful solution and a Palestinian State. Together, Al Jazeera/Qatar and Israel can forge a huge change in the Middle East. |
