| Of course we are all equal in G-d`s eyes and we are capable of loving one another regardless of our differing identities -- BUT once you have a marriage, a home and a family, it does complicate life if the mother is a traditional kosher type Jew and the husband a traditional Irish Catholic. I pick this example because it describes one of my mother`s cousins. They sent their children to a Reform Temple Sunday School, but once old enough the three kids opted out of being Jewish, although halachically Jewish, and the husband, whenever drunk, showed his anti-Jewish side by insulting and abusing his wife. |
