| By all means try to bring non-Jewish spouses into Jewish life -- if that`s what they want, but remember that throughout Jewish history there has been a `saving remnant` that allowed Jews to renew their covenant while the majority were lost to assimilation. At one end of the spectrum is intermarriage and a high chance of their children opting out, but at the other is a growing Orthodox sector which is renewing and rebuilding Jewish life in Israel, USA, Britain and elsewhere. |
