The only difference between this and the likes of Afganistan, Iran or Saudi Arabia is media reporting. Sitting in the back of a bus is not the only form of discrimination women and others suffer in Israel, yet in the Western media portray Israel as a modern `democracy`!
If Israeli society tolerates and even justifies this criminal behaviour towards its own people we can see how the violence and inhumane treatment of the Palesinians goes without challenge or investigation.
Maybe the majority of Israelis would not condone such behabiour but the fact that they remain silent and indefferent explains why the genuine liberal advocates of human rights an peace in Israel remain a small minority. |
