Here is a question for all those on this board who believe either Iran or Syria (or both) are the masterminds of the protests in Lebanon. How do you explain the Christian participation? Do you believe the Christians take orders from Iran or Syria? Do you believe that Christians are all just stupid pawns with no intrests of their own?
Do you believe that all the polls showing Siniora`s popularity ratings that are below Bush`s and Olmert`s are because Iran is twisting the arm of every single Lebanese citizen?
The dislike of Siniora goes much deeper than any manipulations Iranian or Syrian handlers could ever achieve. No matter how it started, or who started it, this is now a grass-roots movement to remove Siniora from office through democratic means.
The Lebanese people want Siniora out because he didn`t stand up against Israel, not because someone in Iran or Syria tells them what to think. |
