It`s true that once Hizbollah is successful in toppling Siniora whatever "democracy" exists in Lebanon will be destroyed and be replaced by a Shia` dominated theocracy. But Lebanon`s current political structure is hardly a representative case study in true democracy in itself. Lebanon is a republic in which the three highest offices are reserved for members of specific religious groups:the President must be a Maronite Christian, the Speaker of the Parliament must be a Shi`a Muslim and the Prime Minister must be a Sunni Muslim.

This is democracy? I hardly think so. The most senior positions are based on the incumbent`s religious and ethnic background instead of their election votes. That`s not democracy by any stretch of the imagination. That`s a bastardization of democracy.

There IS no democracy in Lebanon. Non-Shia`s in Lebanon are going to find that out very soon.
