The very last paragraph in this article sums up Mr. Carter?s whole philosophy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If being an ex-president has not taught him anything, nothing will. The stated goal of the Palestinians, be it Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, or other representatives of the Palestinian people, is the destruction of the state of Israel. Nothing less will suffice. Does Mr. Carter remember or care about the offer that was tendered to Yasser Arafat by Ehud Barak in 2000. I guess not! I believe Mr. Carter has lowered himself to the point of being irrelevant.
