has chosen to make it his life-long effort to bring about peace in the region. He succeeded with Camp David to bring about agreement between Israel and Egypt, and continues to work hard for further peace agreements with our adversaries. Although I strongly disagree with labelling Israel (or the territories) an Apartheid state and especially with all the progress that has been made with the Disengagement, the Kadima victory, etc. this book is really inappropriate and untimely. But President Carter does deserve respectful feedback nevertheless, despite his wrong accusatory judgement upon Israel, in my opinion. Veteran U.S. newsman Walter Cronkit did once say Jimmy Carter was the smartest U.S. President, but smart people can make mistakes. |
