Kayan "...has highlighted the dearth of outcry in the Arab sector re: the 13 honor killngs in 2005, as opposed to the great public outcry over the killing of 13 Israeli Arab youths by security forces during the October 200 riots." From this, it would be logical to conclude that Israel`s Arabs (and the Palestinians) value boys more than girls; and only object out loud to the deaths of their young people at the hands of Israelis. When killed by their own families, it is less outrageous to them. Again, this begs the question of what would be the nature of a Palestinian state when established? One that defends the rights of all its residents, or one that denies basic human rights to women and non-Muslims? Is it impolitic to suggest that as long as it remains most likely to be the latter, the Palestinians don`t deserve a state? "Lah adalah, lah salaam" is true for all. |
