It is sad to see to what extent any form of contact or dialogue between Israel and Palestine has ceased to exist since the start of the current Intifada and the erecting of the separation wall.
Mutual prejudice rules. Many Israelis can only think of Palestinians as potential suicide bombers and many Palestinians, subjected to a brutal occupation, can only think of Israelis as a bunch of cruel barbarians.
Although the Palestine Times will only reach a small readership and one that is better able to break through the mutual prejudice, it is hopefully the start of renewed efforts to break down the massive psychological wall between Israelis and Palestinians. Without it it will be very difficult to break down that physical monstrosity that the separation wall represents. |
