Holly I am not sure I agree with you and even if your hypothesis is correct is that neccessarily bad. I am a life long Conservitive Jew. My son was bar mitzvahed at the western wall by a conservitive rabbi allowing my wife and sister to celebrate as equals . However I have witnessed our movement attempting to gain members for all the wrong reasons . Allowing one to break shabbas by driving cannot be argued justified under any reason.If that is the case why don`t conservitive rabbis drive to shul to lead our services on shabbat .they dont because they realize it cannot be accepted as anythinge xcept weong . On the other hand there are many logical arguments allowing women to have alliahs and be ordained , as for aloowing and Homesexuals to be married should be debated .
