| I do not understand the fuss. The COnservative movement effectively abrogated Halacha many years ago by permitting driving on Shabbat. Moreover, almost no Conservative Jews fully keep the Sabbath, Kosher or any of the other main laws of traditional Judaism in the way that these laws were set down according to the Jewish legal codes. What is one more digression, and why is the issue of homosexuality any larger than the other departures from Jewish law?? When looked at from a Jewish legal framework, the ruckus simply does not make sense. Go ahead, do what you want, you have already done so for many years. Enjoy it, at least. |
