I am with you when it comes to not minimize antisemite, rasist, fascist or any undemocratic tendency whatever its extend, when it comes to fight such. I understand the remarks done my Mrs. Knobloch knowing her past and imagining her painful experiences. And although I think every Nazi is one Nazi too much, I yet don`t think that a comparison to 1933 holds. Remember that in 1933 a party with its leader came to power with the intention to destroy jewism in Germany and Europe. Today the situation is different: Germany is gouverned by democratic parties. Democracy is anchored in most German minds (which was not true for the Republic of Weimar). Human rights are garanteed by the German constitutions which cannot be altered, even not by the parliament whatever their majority. Although the NPD has gained seats in some regional parliaments (which is a shame as such) they are far from winning on national level. |
