"the officer...had decided to turn off the "Barak" anti-missile defense system, which was designed to intercept *Iranian missiles*"...he justified... that "he had worried than an overuse of the system would affect its functioning in case of attacks during the course of the operation. He did not report the malfunctioning radar, nor did he inform the captain of his decision to shut off the defense system."
And they focus on the malfunctioning system?
This clearly relates to improper protocol and oversight. He says he turned it off to save it for an attack. How did he think he would be informed of an attack? Maybe if he had turned on the radar!!! |
