I`m not 100% sure that this plan is racist, although it does have a certain stench. My main objection to the plan is that it is unbelevably stupid. It simply wouldn`t work.
Firstly, we have to acknowlege that the Palestinans would not accept this as an acceptable outcome to the conflict. They want their own state in the places they currently live. A perfectly legitimate demand. This is the situation we face, not one of people who want to emigrate but don`t have the resources to do so.
Secondly, the time frame is too long and to do it ay quicker would be far too expensive. The plan ignores natural population growth. If we assume that 30,000 families could be tempted by $100k each year (avg family size of 5), that would be 150,000 leaving per year. I suppose that Elon`s logic says 150,000 per year x20 yrs =3m. But given Palestinian population growth, this wouldn`t make much of a dent in the overall population because Palestinian population double each 20 yrs. |
