| Perhaps there is something in Lieberman`s agenda which I don`t understand, but I fail to see any racism in his position. First, as much as I`m not in favor of his idea of redrawing the border lines and annexing a few Arab villages to the PA, after all this is a suggestion which some Israeli Arabs, who complain incessantly about discrimination, and who call themselves Palestinians, might have come up with themselves. Second, whishing to live in a country whose majority is your own race, or nationality, or religion, especially when a certain minority threatens your very existence, is NOT racism yet. Most Jews like to marry only Jews. Most Greek orthodox like to marry only Greek orthodox, and so on. This is not racism and stop with the slogans. Rather, Kieberman it offering easy solutions and selling an illusion to a public in tremendous fear from the growing threat, inside and outside, to their existence - a fear partly justified. |
