If a woman wants to wear a scarf it is her right and freedom to do so. If we start with the scarf , where does it stop ? what next ? will the majority start imposing there way of dressing , behaving, etc. on the minority. History proves that prosecuting religious practice, only makes people feel threatened, alienates them and makes hold to there religious values more, it will not lead to integration, people don`t want others making personal choices for them, and will respond negatively to such attempts.
On the personal level, I come from a Muslim family, and I would not marry a women that wears a scarf. And when ever I see a woman with one of those black religious dresses , which cover every part of their body except there I am shocked.
In some countries women are forced to wear the scarf, and that is an issue, but in western counties, most women who wear the scarf do it by choice, and by forcing to take it off, one becomes no better than those who forces them to wear it. |
