I agree that Jordan has exhibited, and continues to exhibit, one of the most constructive approaches to the Middle East of any of the countries there (any of the countries anywhere really).

I do disagree that Jordan "has been in the most conflicts with Israel.". Jordan was protected, in part, from a Syrian invasion by the Israeli`s in 1970. In 1973 Jordan did not play any significant role. Even Jordan`s participation in `67 was half hearted. One gets the sense that had the Iraqis not been squeezing them from the East, they`d have rather sat the whole thing out.

The King of Jordan was assasinated in `51 by a Palestinian and yet Jordan graciously absorbed and made citizens of Arab refugees from `48; Something no other Arab country has done.

They have not been without their atrocities like the destruction of holy sites in Jerusalem `48-`67. But they have long shown the capacity for both forgiving and apologizing; Two skills that are tragically absent amongst the region`s peoples
