According to Koran, The "Masjed al-aghsa" is the site of the Jewish temple (read Korna Sure # 17, specially Ayee 102 to 104). It says that "God will bring all Jews together in this place toward the later days"
I dont know why Omar decieded to build his mosque on that exact site ! I guess that this was an act of God so that our cusins (decendents of Ishmael) would keep this place holy while we were in exile. Now that we are back (in accordance with Koran, we hope that we can live in peace with them and enjoy the spiritual gift of God together. This is the Jewish vision (according to Psalms of David) that we should all get together in Jerusalm and praise God. Any comments on what I wrote from the Muslim readers of Haaretz ?
