Does he understand what this would mean?
1) Resolution 242 says nothing about Israel returning the entire Golan or any other captured territory what is returned is to be decided through negotiation so if Assad wants to be using the UN resolutions as a basis for peace then he needs to also accept that Israel is not obligated to return everything.
2) The UN resolutions that concern peace with Syria aare not conected to peace with the rest of the arabs.
3) There are no UN security council resolutions that deal with the right of return this issue is discussed only in a General Assembly resolution and resolutions made by the General Assembly are not legaly binding.
4) What Lebanese terriotyr is there for Israel to return if he is refering to Sheba Farms then somebody needs to remind him that was captured from Syria in 1967 and Syria has never given up claims to it so who does he want Israel to give it to? |
