Its true that there are a number of cooks and extremists (in Hevron and Yesh Gvul) who come on Aliya. However, like most most Americans in Israel I`m a rational and reasonable professional who came because no matter how much I love the U.S. as a Jew I feel that it can never be home to me the way Israel is. Sure, I miss not having to wake up at 2 a.m. to watch the Yankees in October but with all of te hardships here I feel more at home in Israel than I could in New York.
Israelis overseas - I understand why your there. I did a university degree overseas but I came back. I don`t think you can ever feel as comfortable in NY, LA, Miami or Toronto as you will in Tel Aviv or Haifa. |
