| Whether the true number is 600,000 or 1 million Israelis living abroad, it is a true tragedy and a reflection of the utter failure of secular zionism. Far too many Israelis are raised with absolutely no connection to their religion, heritage and history. Who are the "losers"? The dedicated Jews (overwhelmingly religious) who make great financial and personal sacrifices for the sake of realizing a two thousand year old dream? Or perhaps the lowlifes who trade a beautiful heritage for the opportunity to drive cabs and move furniture in NY and LA? |
