There is a clear, 100% foolproof way to know Israel is beating the stuffing out of the enemy and that is the UN jumping up and down demanding a ceasefire. In terms of rockets, virtually all the long-range ones are gone. On the first day, nearly 50% of the rockets were long-range, on the last less than 1%, the remainder being of the type that when the Palestinians fire them are derided as "firecrackers". Israel as usual was forced into a ceasefire, with the UN as usual pulling arab chestnuts out of the fire. Far from "keeping away", the IDF was fighting Hizbollah right up until the ceasefire went into force and the IDF hasn`t pulled out yet. In terms of fatalities, Hizbollah with all it money and time killed less people than the Palestinians did in Defensive Shield. Israel was forced to end the war early, hopefully in round 2 our leaders won`t dither so much. |
