| They need to insure that all arabs renain defensless, relatively speaking, in relation to Israel`s WMD. Israel has acted outside all boundaries of international norms, due to two facts: 1. they do not have to live within their means, due to the massive monetary and milatary support it recieves from US, 2. their willingness to use WMD when they feel threatened (recent cluster bombs were a broad hint of how little they are concerned about collateral damage and world opnion). Nobody seems to recognize that Iran exercised remarkable restraint in the Lebabon debacle by restraining Hezbolla from using the long range missles it is known to posses. They actually showed more restraint than Israel, who used cluster bombs indescriminatly, in spite of promises to the contrary to the US to use them only as a last resort weapon of defense! It may well be that a nuclear Iran would provide a restraining balance on Israel that is sorely needed! |
