| Islam is the only religion that recognizes the historical and religous legitimacy of Judaism and Christianity. Islam considers Christians and Jews `ahl al kitab` people of the book. And according to the constitution of Medina, Christians and Muslims ought to be given equal civil rights. Indeed, according to traditions, the last words uttered by the Prophet were "be kind to the people of the book, don`t oppress them." |
